IS IT HARD?
DO YOU NEED TO BE STRONG? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
For a trial it does not cost that much – a few hours of introduction course start from 50 euros only.
If you decide to master kiteboarding for sure, choose the full course… contact us for a quote.
We are selling equipment for our students new or second hand depending on their budget, but only when students have a good understanding and mastered kite control skills.
Do not buy any equipment until you know how to use it properly and which one is safe and best suits you!
LESSON FIRST!
A lot of people who are interested in kitesurfing have never done lessons in any sport, so why should kitesurfing be any different? Kitesurfing is different because you can put other people at risk if you do not know what you are doing.
Another thing is that some people look at the expense of kiteboarding lessons as being a reason not to get them. A proper lesson will greatly speed up the learning process and could end up saving you a great deal of money in the end.
It makes no sense to shell out 1500 euro or more for a new kite, only to destroy it because you decided to save on lessons. What if you injure yourself because you have no clue what you are doing? An injury can cost you more than a lesson in terms of money, time, and lost income. If you look at kitesurfing lessons in those terms, you cannot afford to not take them.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS?
Basic requirements for you: age 12 years onwards, for complete course you must be a confident open water swimmer.
Swimming Skills:
You must be a reasonably strong swimmer and be very comfortable in the water. When things go wrong out there, you may have to swim back in and a lot of people greatly overestimate their swimming skills. The general rule of kiting is, don’t kite further out than you’re prepared to swim.
Time:
Kitesurfing takes time to learn. If you are looking for a sport that you only want to do a few times a year and be reasonably good at, kitesurfing is not it. Kitesurfing does not have to take over your life, but you do have to be willing to put the time in to learn the sport and wait for good conditions. Complete kitesurfing course usually takes 12- 25 hours. The bigger gaps between the lessons, the more hours you will need to master the sport.
Responsibility:
As a kitesurfer, you are using gear that can be very safe or dangerous to use if you do not operate your gear responsibly. You must be aware of your surroundings at all times and be honest in judging your skill level and whether or not you can go out in certain conditions.
STILL NOT SURE?
You have to come and try
Take a lesson (hour or a few hours or full course…), we are ready to provide the best options for you.
All necessary equipment will be provided on the lesson. We will do some exercises on the beach first, you will need a wetsuit for the next steps, and once you ready we continue the lessons in the water.
