Garrylucas beach live cam
Garrylucas Beach, also known as White Strand, is located just off Old Head of Kinsale, about 40 km south of Cork. It is a Blue Flag beach and has a good extent of clean, white sand with some grassy dunes. The beach is surrounded with a rocky cliffs on both sides.
The beach heads in south-west direction. As it can be well exposed to elements, it gets some good waves and wind. This makes it popular amongst fans of kitesurfing, surfing and other water sports. Kitesurfing on this beach is good in wind direction from south to west (although if the wind comes from south, local kitesurfers usually prefer Harbor View / Coolmain beach only about 5 km west). In the summer months, the presence of a lifeguard (time is displayed on the beach notice boards) and the clean sand make this also popular bathers destination. The quality of water was classified as excellent.
Access to the beach leads through ramps and steps. Next to the beach are also parking and toilet facilities.
