Welcome to the kitesportcentre.com We are based in Cork and are ready to offer lessons for one of the fastest growing water sport in the world - KITEBOARDING. Discover with us, learn with us, progress with us.

You probably already know many beautiful beaches around Cork and Kerry, where some “crazy “ people flying huge kites, that look like parachutes of different sizes, colors, shapes....
Some of them riding on the sandy beach sitting in buggies, other kiters like to splash some water and ride waves, jump in to the air and other tricks. (In kitesurfing you can choose different styles best suit for you or create your own! Freeriding, Waveriding, Freestyle, Wakestyle… - it’s pure freedom.
Can you imagine how much freedom a rider feels to be driven by wind and waves... You can do it too!
IS IT HARD ? DO YOU NEED TO BE STRONG ? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ?
To try that is not a big money - a few hours of introduction course starts from 50 euros.
If you decide to master kiteboarding for sure, choose full course… contact us for quotation.
We are selling equipment for our students new or second hand depending on a budget, only when students have a good understanding and mastered kite control skills.
Do not buy any equipment until you do not know how to use it properly and which one is safe and best suits you! Lessons first!
A lot of people who are interested in kitesurfing have never done lessons in any sport, so why should kitesurfing be any different? Kitesurfing is different because you can put other people at risk if you do not know what you are doing.
Another thing is that some people look at the expense of kiteboarding lessons as being a reason not to get them. A proper lesson will greatly speed up the learning process and could end up saving you a great deal of money in the end.
It makes no sense to shell out 1500 euro or more for a new kite, only to destroy it because you decided to save on lessons. What if you injure yourself because you have no clue what you are doing? An injury can cost you more than a lesson in terms of money, time, and lost income. If you look at kitesurfing lessons in those terms, you cannot afford to not take them.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS ?
Basic requirements for you: age 12 years onwards, for complete course you must be open water swimmer.
Swimming Skills: You must be a reasonably strong swimmer and be very comfortable in the water. When things go wrong out there, you may have to swim back in and a lot of people greatly overestimate their swimming skills. The general rule of kiting is, don’t kite further out than you’re prepared to swim.
Time: Kitesurfing takes time to learn. If you are looking for a sport that you only want to do a few times a year and be reasonably good at, kitesurfing is not it. Kitesurfing does not have to take over your life, but you do have to be willing to put the time in to learn the sport and wait for good conditions. Complete kitesurfing course usually takes 12- 25 hours. The bigger gaps between the lessons , the more hours you will need to master that .
Responsibility: As a kitesurfer, you are using gear that can be very safe or dangerous to use if you do not operate your gear responsibly. You must be aware of your surroundings at all times and be honest in judging your skill level and whether or not you can go out in certain conditions.
STILL NOT SURE ?

You have to come and try!
- take a lesson (hour or a few hours or full course...) , we are ready to provide the best options for you.
All necessary equipment will be provided on the lesson. We will do some exercises on the beach first, you will need wetsuit for next steps , and once you ready we continue education in the water.
Where to get wetsuit and which one is the best for you , feel free to ask for advice.
